Planning larger treatment with your Ameritas benefits

When you need more than a filling — a dental implant, a bridge, several crowns or full-arch treatment — the order and timing of the work can change what you pay. Here's how we plan it:

Diagnose fully first. A 3D scan, digital X-rays and photos, so the plan is based on what's actually there.
Check your benefits. We look up your remaining annual maximum and how your plan treats major services.
Sequence the work. Urgent care first; where it's safe, the rest can be scheduled across benefit years.
Ask the plan in advance when it helps. For major work, we can request a pre-treatment estimate from Ameritas.
Put it in writing. You get an itemized estimate for each phase before you agree.

How coverage typically works for major care

On most PPO plans, major services like crowns and bridges are covered at a lower percentage than preventive or basic care — often around half — and implant coverage varies widely from plan to plan. Annual maximums also cap what any plan pays in a year. Your Ameritas plan's specifics depend on your plan, and we confirm them before you commit.

If your share is more than you want to pay at once, in-house and third-party financing can spread it into monthly payments. Without coverage, our membership plan covers routine care for $295 a year, though it excludes implants and orthodontics.
