Why no honest office quotes one price for everyone
Two people who both say "I need an implant" can have very different treatment. One has healthy bone and a gap that's been empty for a month. The other has a broken tooth to remove, a thin jaw that needs grafting, and a front tooth where the crown must match perfectly. A single advertised number can't describe both.
That's why we price your case after we've examined it. At your consultation we check the bone with digital X-rays, take a 3D scan of your mouth, and then give you a written estimate that lists every part of the treatment separately.
What goes into the Dental Implants Cost Howell patients pay
These are the factors that actually move the total up or down:
- Number of implants — each implant post is a separate component and procedure, so replacing one tooth costs less than replacing several.
- Type of restoration — a single crown, an implant bridge, a snap-in denture and a fixed full arch each involve different lab work and materials.
- Bone grafting — if the jaw has thinned, a bone graft adds a step. We do grafting in-house, so it isn't billed by a second office.
- Extractions — removing a failing tooth before placing the implant is a separate procedure.
- Materials — for full-arch All-on-4, our final teeth are crafted in zirconia rather than acrylic, which is stronger and more stain-resistant.

Single implant, bridge, snap-in or All-on-4: how cost scales
A single-tooth implant includes the implant, an abutment and a crown. An implant bridge replacing three teeth usually uses two implants, so it costs less than three separate implants would.
Snap-in dentures often use two implants for a lower arch and more for an upper, plus the denture itself. All-on-4 uses four to six implants per arch, temporary teeth during healing and a final zirconia bridge, which makes it the most involved option — but it replaces an entire arch with fixed teeth.
Implants vs. bridges vs. dentures over the long term
Comparing only the first bill can be misleading. A traditional bridge usually costs less upfront, but it requires crowning two healthy teeth, and if one of those teeth later fails, the whole bridge often has to be redone. A conventional denture is the least expensive at the start, but as the jawbone shrinks it typically needs relines and eventually replacement, along with ongoing adhesive.
Implants cost more at the outset. With good care they can last 20+ years, they don't depend on neighboring teeth, and they help preserve the jawbone. For many patients that makes them the better value over time, though the right choice depends on your health, your mouth and your budget — and we'll show you all three options side by side.

Insurance, financing and our membership plan
Dental insurance doesn't always pay for the implant itself, but many plans cover parts of the treatment, such as the exam, X-rays, extractions or the crown. We're in-network with 32 PPO plans, and our coordinators check your benefits before treatment so the estimate reflects what your plan is expected to pay.
To make the balance manageable, we offer in-house financing and third-party financing that can split treatment into monthly payments, subject to approval. Note that our in-house membership plan does not include implants; it covers preventive care and a discount on many other procedures.
